Where To Buy Cannabis in Bangkok Without Getting Ripped Off
The four kinds of shop you will meet in Bangkok, what each one is good for, the questions that expose a re-bagger, and why farm-direct is a different product.
Bangkok has more dispensaries per street than most cities have coffee shops, and from the pavement they look identical. They are not. Here is how to read them.
The short answer
Buy from a shop that can name the grower, show a lab report for the exact batch, and tell you the harvest date. Farm-direct shops can answer instantly; re-baggers cannot. Price alone tells you very little.
The four kinds of shop
- Farm-direct: the shop and the farm are the same business. Shortest chain of custody, full traceability, consistent restocks of the same genetics.
- Curated dispensary: buys from named farms it has a relationship with. Can be excellent if staff know their suppliers and keep lab reports.
- Volume re-bagger: buys bulk from whoever is cheapest that month, re-bags under its own labels. Inconsistent, often fast-dried, rarely traceable.
- Tourist-strip pop-up: neon, hard sell, no paperwork. Avoid.
Four questions that sort them in a minute
- Who grew this? A name and a location, or vagueness.
- Can I see the COA for this batch? Produced on request, or excuses.
- When was it harvested? A date, or a guess.
- How was it dried and cured? A process, or a shrug.
Why price is a weak signal
Cheap flower in Bangkok is usually cheap because it was grown outdoors in a humid climate, dried fast to free up space, and passed through several hands. Expensive flower is not automatically better either — plenty of ordinary product is priced as premium on the tourist strips.
What you are actually paying for in good indoor craft flower is controlled environment, real cure time and lab testing per batch. Those cost money and they are visible in the jar.
What a good buying experience feels like
Staff ask what effect you are after before quoting a THC number. Jars are opened for you to smell. Someone can explain the difference between two strains beyond "this one is stronger". Lab reports appear without drama. Nobody rushes you.
Where we fit
CANABANGKA grows indoors in Ratchathewi and sells at three locations: Metro Phetchaburi 13 (flagship, cafe and farm tour), Chinatown at Trok Sai near MRT Wat Mangkon, and the original Ramkhamhaeng 26/2 shop. Same farm, same lab reports, same team — so all four questions above have immediate answers.
If you want to check the source before you buy, come on the farm tour and see the rooms your flower came out of.
